Have stuff to recycle that doesn't go in your cart? Bring it to a Recycling & Reuse Collection event! We host six events a year to collect items for recycling and reuse that can't go in your home recycle carts or dumpsters. Events are free and open to all Seattle residents.

2021 Recycling & Reuse Collection Events
We're excited to be able to safely offer these events in 2021. Masks and maintaining social distancing when dropping off materials at the event are required.

February 27th, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Central District

March 20th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m - West Seattle
South Seattle Community College, North Parking Lot, 6000 16th Ave SW, 98106
- Clothing, Linens, Furniture, and household goods will NOT be collected at this event.
April - Wedgwood - location TBD
May 22nd, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Phinney Ridge
Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave N, 98103
- Furniture will NOT be collected at this event.
June 12th - Lake City

September/October - Rainier Valley - location TBD
Other options for recycling and disposal:

- Schedule a special item pickup for items that don't go in your containers at home.
Accepted items:
- Styrofoam
- Household batteries (no damaged batteries)
- Florescent tubes and bulbs (no broken bulbs, limit: 4 ft.)
- Small electronics
- Small appliances (non-freon)
- Clothing & linens (any condition, must be clean and dry)
- Furniture & household goods (in good condition)
- Paper for shredding (limit: 4 boxes of paper)
Items not accepted:
- Commercial loads
- Broken furniture or household goods
- Garbage
- Yard waste
- Household recycling (items that go in your cart/dumpster)
- Hazardous waste
- Automotive waste
- Construction waste
- Non-recyclable or reusable items
- Car seats

2021 Compost Giveaway Events
Bring a container and shovel to pick up your free ½ yard of bulk compost. Events are First Come, First Served, and will continue until the compost is gone.
