Lewis County residents with unwanted sensitive documents and Styrofoam can drop their items off at a recycling event slated to be held Saturday by the Washington State University Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers.
The event is being hosted at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, located at 1411 South Tower Ave. in Centralia, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a news release from Lewis County.
The event is part of a larger “Gardening for Everyone” event that’s being put on that day. A Washington state Department of Ecology grant is also helping pay to put on the events.
Visitors to the recycling event may bring up to three grocery bags of sensitive documents they would like to have shredded at no charge. The shredded paper will be transferred to a paper recycling facility to be made into more paper. Block Styrofoam and food service Styrofoam will be accepted at the event. All materials must be clean and free of tape and labels, and put into its own clear bag for dropoff.
Lewis County is asking all participants at this event to social distance and wear a face mask.
