- Recycling scheduled for collection will be collected Saturday, November 27.
- Loose leaf collection is suspended.
- The Police Department Administrative Offices are closed. Police patrol will remain on duty. For emergencies please call 911. For non-emergencies, please dial 301-279-8000 for dispatch.
Friday, November 26
- All City facilities are closed, with the exception of the following facilities:
- Police Department Administrative Offices will open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- The Arts Barn will open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for its Holiday Bazaar.
- The Aquatic Center will open from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m.
- Winter Lights Festival opens for the season. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be available at the admission booth. Purchase tickets here.
- Recycling will be collected as scheduled.
- Loose leaf collection is suspended.
Recycling Information
The collection of recycled materials for residents whose regular recycling day is Thursday, November 25, 2021, will take place the following Saturday, November 27. Recycling includes newspaper, mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, and commingled materials (which should be separated from brush, branches, grass clippings, leaves & other yard trimmings) picked up by the City’s contractor. Recycling scheduled for Friday, November 26, will be picked up as scheduled.
Loose leaf collection will not take place on November 25 & 26. All areas will be collected the preceding Monday through Wednesday.
Regular trash & garbage collection for City residents is handled by private contractors. Please contact your HOA or your private contractor regarding the holiday collection schedule for these materials.
