NEWARK, CA — Sneakers, tennies, trainers, or tennis shoes — whatever you call them, there are probably some extra pairs cluttering your closets.
A fundraising drive that also helps the environment is underway at Kennedy Elementary School.
Drop old shoes in a bin outside the office by the end of the school day this Thursday, as the bin will be collected some time on Friday.
According to the event flyer, some 200 million pairs of shoes end up in U.S. landfills each year.
