SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Circular Polymers- a California based recycler of post-consumer, high-performance polymers including polyamide 6 and 66, polypropylene and polyester has been acquired by Ascend Performance Materials. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.
Further to the deal, Circular Polymers would be renamed as Circular Polymers by Ascend. It will provide materials that offer strong performance with a considerably smaller environmental footprint.

According to company press release, Ascend has acquired majority stake in the company. Meantime, David Bender, founder and CEO of Circular Polymers, will hold the remaining stake. Also, he will continue to be the CEO of the company.
Bender noted that it has been focusing on improving the sourcing and processing of post-consumer high-performance polymers over the past few years. The collaboration with Ascend will accelerate its growth and ensure these materials go back into new long-term, high-performance applications, he added.
Phil McDivitt, President and CEO of Ascend said that the launch of proprietary ReDefyne, it has witnessed significant surge in demand for circular products across its various business segments.
