SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Richmond will provide its residents an opportunity to dispose of their unwanted Christmas trees and end-of-life electronics. The event, ‘Bring One for the Chipper’, will be held Saturday, January 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1710 Robin Hood Road.
The drive-thru and drop-off event will be open to city residents, who will be required to provide proof of residency upon arrival. There will be volunteers available to take the items out of the car.

The City notification said that residents will be allowed to bring trees to the designated parking lot area at the drop-off location before the event. Trees, with no decorations, will be accepted up until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. Trees will also be accepted at East Richmond Road Convenience Center (ERRCC) Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through January 13. In addition, the department’s Bulk and Brush team will collect trees curbside until January 13, 2023. All trees collected curbside or dropped off at ERRCC will be responsibly recycled.
In addition to trees, the event will also accept electronics, paper documents for shredding, household hazardous waste items and oil-based paint.
