ACI Plastics Unveiled New Plastics Recycling Facility in Flint


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Flint-based ACI Plastics unveiled its new $10 million film-plastic recycling plant at 2000 Bagwell St. between Lapeer Street and Lippincott Boulevard in Flint. The facility is poised to become the largest plastic film recycler in Michigan.

The unveiling ceremony was attended among others by Mayor Sheldon Neeley, officials from the Michigan Dept. of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and Genesee County state legislators. Neeley, while speaking at a press conference held in the plant premises, said that he is proud to welcome the new facility to Flint. Furthermore, he congratulated the entire team on the milestone achievement.

The new plant features state-of-the-art processing and cleaning technology. It will create around 30 new jobs. The hiring for these jobs will begin in May, where Flint residents getting preference.

ACI Plastics’s new recycling plant is being funded by a $300,000 Renew Michigan EGLE infrastructure grant and a $150,000 Business Development Program performance-based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
