Bangor Township to Have New 96-Gllon Recycling Bin

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Bangor Township, Michigan will soon start distributing new recycling bins to its residents.

As many as 5,200 new 96-gallon recycling bins will start arriving at resident’s homes starting the week of August 21. The distribution will be completed before early September this year. The new bins are equipped with wheels for easy handling and will have attached lids to help keep the contents dry and secure. The large size bins will accommodate more recyclables. Also, residents can throw recyclables into bins without sorting.

The residents will be allowed to start using the new bins, immediately after they receive them, said the township press release.

The distribution of new bins is made possible with a grant from The Recycling Partnership and with support from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) Recycle Grant Program.

The new bins accept a wide range of recyclables including glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, food and beverage cartons, paper products and empty plastic bottles and containers. Meantime, items such as plastic bags, paper towels, electrical equipment, batteries and clothing should not be placed for recycling.

The township warned its residents to be careful not to put non-recyclable materials into recycling bins.
