Ace Glass to Build Glass Recycling Plant in North Little Rock

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Arkansas-headquartered Ace Glass announced plans to build a new manufacturing plant in North Little Rock. The plant will recycle glass to produce industrial products.

The proposed facility will be built at an expense of approximately $50 million. Upon reaching full operations, the facility will generate 60 full-time jobs. The plant will be located at 100 Campbell Road. It is expected to open in April next year. Though it is located near to residential areas, it is unlikely to cause any impact as it follows 100% indoor production. In addition, it will have tree-lined perimeter of around 100 feet around it. Ace Glass noted that there won’t be any pollution due to the facility.

According to Courtney Little, President, Ace Glass, one of the products will be cullets, which are nothing but glass pieces with the consistency of fine sand. They are widely used in highway paints as well as by fiberglass manufacturers. Another product is ultra-lightweight foam glass aggregate, which is used underneath roads and along retaining walls and bridge abutments instead of gravel, he noted.

The facility has already got approval from the North Little Rock Planning Department. It now awaits approval from City Council.
