Portage County to Host Electronics Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Portage County Solid Waste will host an electronic and small appliance recycling event for its residents this week. The event will take place at the Portage County Transfer Facility, 650 Moore Road in Plover this Thursday 4PM to 6.30 PM.

The event will be for Portage County residents alone. Businesses as well as residents from other counties will not be allowed to participate in the event. The collection event, covered by special funding from electronics recycler, will be free for residents. Residents are allowed to bring up to 20 electronic items per vehicle. The participants are requested to enter from Twin Towers Drive, turn west onto Moore Road and follow sign boards and instructions of staff members.

The accepted items include cable boxes, cables and cords, cameras and camcorders, cellphones, PDAs, chargers, clocks, coffee makers, copiers, printers, scanners, fax machines, desktop computer towers, docking stations, DVD players, Blu-ray players, VHS players, external drives, fans, hair dryers, landline phones, laptops, monitors, MP3 players, iPods, microwaves, projectors, radios, satellite dishes and receivers, servers, stereos and speakers, toasters, all types of TVs, UPS and jump starters, vacuum cleaners, video game consoles and controllers.
