The EPA grants are expected to help Wisconsin to reduce environmental and waste impacts by promoting efficient use of resources and energy. These will strengthen its recycling program in various communities across the state. Moreover, it will support Wisconsin communities to manage their waste in a responsible manner.
The federal investment will significantly benefit residents and provide notable boost to Wisconsin’s economy.
According to EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan, the grants mark a historic investment to better manage waste across American communities. By way of grants the EPA hopes to deploy resources to provide recycling across the country, including in disadvantaged communities. In addition to preventing waste from causing climate crisis, it also supports local economies and create good-paying jobs, Regan added.
