SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): FCC Environmental Services has been awarded with a Solid Waste Collection Services contract by the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The contract cover almost 90% of the City and covers approximately 300,000 residents. The contract is expected to begin in November this year and will last for seven years.
As part of the contract, FCC will build a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station at an investment of more than $25 million. It will purchase more than 30 new collection trucks fuelled by CNG. An electric box truck will be purchased for bulk and appliance pickup. Additionally, fully electric pickups will be acquired for route managers. Also, a total of around 60 regional employees will be hired in support of the expanded operations, the company press release noted.
Commenting on the development, Dan Brazil, Chief Executive Officer, FCC said that he is extremely excited about receiving the contract. The contract represents a pivotal strategic milestone, expanding its geographical reach further into the Midwest market. FCC is honoured to bring high-quality services and sustainability approaches to the Capitol city, he added.
