SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Keep America Beautiful (KAB) announced launch of its biggest litter cleanup and greenup event- the Greatest American Cleanup. The campaign targets to eliminate 25 billion pieces of litter from the national landscape before July 4, 2026, when the country celebrates its 250th birthday.

As part of the commitment, more than 25,000 communities across the nation will be invited to make a new “declaration” to clean, green, and beautify their neighborhoods and public spaces, over the next two years. The campaign will focus on picking up litter, planting trees and flowers, cleaning natural trails and recreation areas and much more. In addition, KAB will offer support to local beautification and recycling efforts.
Jennifer Lawson, President and CEO, KAB noted that all Americans have a significant role to play in making the country look its very best. He invited all Americans to join KAB and make the event a huge success. Through this historic cleanup event, KAB aims to inspire individuals and communities to work together towards a more beautiful and more sustainable future, Lawson added.
