Las Cruces solid waste, recycling facilities resume normal hours for public access


LAS CRUCES – South Central Solid Waste Authority and Las Cruces Utilities announced Thursday that they will be returning to their normal business hours and will be open for the public to drop off solid waste and recyclables. To comply with state health directives, customers will be required to wear masks and gloves and maintain social distancing when using the various facilities. 

  • Old Foothills Landfill – accepts Clean Fill and Green Waste – 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd. – Open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Closed Sunday 
  • Sonoma Ranch Recycling Drop-Off Center – 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd. – Open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Closed Sunday 
  • Amador Avenue Transfer Station – 2865 Amador Ave. – Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last customer accepted 15 minutes prior to closing) 
  • Las Cruces Recycling Center Drop-Off – 2855 Amador Ave. – Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last customer accepted 15 minutes prior to closing) 
  • Corralitos Regional Landfill – 14535 Robert Larson Blvd. (Corralitos Exit off I-10) – Closed to the general public 
  • County Collection Centers – Visit www.scswa.net for locations and normal days of operation
  • Chaparral Transfer Station and Recycling Center – 180 McCombs Rd. – Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last customer accepted 15 minutes prior to closing)

Residents and businesses can drop off solid waste or recyclables at the various locations. More information can be found on the LCU and SCSWA websites. Both organizations are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
