The Berrien County Parks Department will hold a recycling event in August. It says residents can properly recycle household chemicals, electronics, and foam on Wednesday, August 12 at Love Creek County Park in Berrien Center.
The event will be drive-thru only and those who stop by should stay in their vehicles the entire time.
The county says it will take oils, chemicals and cleaners, yard and garden chemicals, oil-based paint, home medical waste like pills and needles, batteries, and lightbulbs in addition to anything with an electrical cord or that runs on batteries.
Everything will be free to drop off, except computer monitors and televisions, which will cost $10 and $20, respectively. The recycling event will be open to Berrien County residents from 3 to 7 p.m.
