Grade 310 Stainless Steel is a medium carbon austenitic alloy. It comprises of 19-22% Nickel, 24-26% Chromium, under 3% each of Manganese, Tin, Phosphorus and Carbon. The balance is Iron. Like other austenitic stainless steel grades, 310 SS cannot be hardened by heat treatment. However, they can be hardened by cold work.
310 SS is known for high temperature properties. It has good ductility and weldability. These grades are highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. The high chromium and nickel content makes it superior to 304 or 309 in most environments.
310 Stainless Steel is most commonly used in heat treatment and chemical processing industries in manufacture of various parts of furnaces, boilers, oil burners, combustion tubes, heat exchangers etc.
Grade 310 Stainless Steel is more valuable when matched with 309 SS and 316 SS and will be paid more by scrap yards. However, the prices offered by yards are subject to change depending on locality and market conditions.
price
All scrap yards that do non-ferrous scrap business will accept 310 SS scrap. Call upon various scrap yards in your locality and pick the yard that offers maximum price for your scrap. Before taking the scrap material to the yard premises, analyze them well to ensure that they have no attachments and that they match the regulations mentioned by the yard for specific scrap material category.
yards
310 SS scrap in bulk quantities are often produced by industries that scrap old equipment for installation of new ones. As these scrap materials are often heavy, scrap yards may arrange for direct on-site pick-up services are offered free in most cases.
