Abington to Host Electronics Collection Event This Saturday


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Township of Abington, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania announced that it is proud to offer its residents an opportunity to responsibly recycle obsolete electronic items. The event will be open for residents of Abington Township only and will be held in partnership with eForce Compliance.

The event titled “Anything with a Plug” electronics collection is scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 9 AM - 12 PM at Abington Township Public Works Department Public Works Yard, 2201 Florey Lane, Abington, PA 19001. Pre-registration is advised, but not required.

The accepted items include laptops, computers, peripherals, mice, typewriters, printers, telephones, small appliances, microwaves, fax machines, cell phones and calculators. The event will not accept batteries, lightbulbs, dehumidifiers, smoke detectors, portable air conditioner units and large appliances.

There will be a cost for televisions and monitors. TVs and computer monitors will be charged $30 per unit. Also, wooden console and rear-projection televisions have a fee of $100 per unit, the official website said.

Also, the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) will collect food items on site for local food pantry.
