Berrien County Releases Recycling Event Schedule

The 2022 community recycling schedule has been released by Berrien County. It says the recycling events for this year kick off on Tuesday, April 12 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor with a Reduce Reuse Recycle Day.

Items accepted will be household chemicals, electronics, foam, and documents for shedding. You can drop those things off and they’ll be recycled for free, keeping them out of the environment. Additional recycling events for electronics, household chemicals, and more will be held May 14, June 8, September 17, and October 8.

You can find descriptions of all events at Berrien County’s website. Berrien County’s recycling events started 26 years ago. Since then, more than 36,000 people have participated, 2 million pounds of household hazardous waste have been recycled or disposed, and 1.2 million pounds of electronics have been diverted from the landfill for recycling.
