Starting this month, thousands of Birmingham residents can receive free blue 64-gallon recycling carts as part of a city initiative to support the reduction of waste sent to landfills, conserve natural resources, and prevent pollution, according to a recent news release.

This will be an expansion of the pilot recycling program Birmingham launched in 2020 with a couple of its garbage routes.
