SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): A definitive agreement has been reached by Casella Waste Systems, Inc. to purchase Welsh Sanitation and Royal Carting, located in Wingdale, New York, together with associated real estate assets. The transaction is expected to close by Q4 this year, subject to customary closing conditions and necessary approvals.
Through the proposed acquisition, Casella's portfolio will be expanded to include two solid waste collection operations and two transfer stations located in the Middle and Lower Hudson Valley regions of New York as well as western Connecticut. By doing this, Casella will reach new markets with its services. The acquisition is expected to generate over $90 million in annualized revenues.

Commenting on the acquisition, John W. Casella, Chairman and CEO of Casella Waste Systems, Inc. noted that Royal is a well-known and respected waste and recycling service provider, with whom it has worked for over three decades. The company plans to uphold Royal’s strong legacy. It also intends to provide new features to support the needs of customer service, he added.
