SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Centre County residents will be offered free tire collection and paper shredding events this fall.
According to the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority (CCRRA) notification, a one day, free tire collection event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16th from 8 AM to 2 PM. The residents could bring their old tires to this event for recycling. The entry to the event will be restricted through online registration. It must be noted that the County has been witnessing huge dumps of illegally disposed tires.
The above event will be only for Centre County residents. Up to 12 light truck or car tires will be accepted per reservation.
Also, CCRRA will offer a free paper shredding event at its premises on Saturday, Oct 9th 9AM to 12 Noon. The event, being held in partnership with state Rep. Paul Takac’s office is open to all County residents. Paper documents collected at the event will be shredded and recycled responsibly. No plastic or credit cards will be accepted. Also, containers will not be returned.
The CCRRA said that it is happy to offer the free collection and recycling services to its residents. The County’s recycling program has had high participation levels and very low contamination rates, it noted.
