SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Cherokee County Recycling Center announced that it will hold an electronics recycling event at the Cherokee County Administration Building, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. December 3rd.
The event, which will be held in partnership with Premier Surplus, will be limited to Cherokee County residents, it said. The drive-through event will be cash only. No credit or debit cards will be accepted. The residents need to remain in their vehicles. The equipment will be removed by volunteers.

The freely accepted items include personal computers, laptops, modems, floppy and disk drives, printers, batteries, CD-ROMS, fax machines, cell phones, circuit boards, copiers, phones, PC power supplies, stereos/VCR/CD players, scanners, keyboards, typewriters, toner cartridges, mouse/mice, text equipment, wire/cabling, PC monitors and networking equipment. Televisions could be dropped for a fee of $25, whereas the fee for CRT monitors, large projection TVs and LCD monitors is fixed at $10, $40 and $5 per unit.
Meantime, the event will not accept wooden cabinet TV sets, gas-powered equipment, tires, household trash and appliances.
Troy Brazie, Manager, Cherokee County Recycling Center noted that the event offers an opportunity for its residents to dispose of their household electronics properly.
