SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Charlotte, NC-headquartered leading battery recycler, Cirba Solutions announced new partnership with EcoPro Co Ltd – the globalleader in lithium-ion battery cathode materials. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies promises to develop a circular battery supply chain and boost the use of recycled battery content.

There has been a flurry of alliances across the lithium-ion battery value chain since the introduction of the landmark Inflation Reduction Act, which aims to promote development of clean energy using domestic resources in the U.S. There has been a growing demand for critical battery metals over the past several years.

The recycled materials from Cirba Solutions will be used by EcoPro for producing precursor cathode active material (PCAM) and cathode active material (CAM). The strategic alliance will bring together key market leaders.

Hoirim Jung, Business Strategy Office Leader, Managing Director at EcoPro noted that the alliance will support its growth into a closed-loop battery materials supply chain in North America.

Also, Jay Wago, Chief Commercial Officer at Cirba Solutions stated that the association with EcoPro will support the expansion of an interconnected battery supply chain.
