The City of Jackson announces a new addition to their team.
Derek Marshall will serve as the new recycling center coordinator.
Marshall, a native of Jackson, graduated from Jackson Central-Merry Academy of Medical Technology.
He earned an Associate of Science in Organizational Leadership from Union University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Capella University.
Marshall shared that he’s committed to furthering the growth of the recycling program and increasing community awareness.
“We are actually collecting cardboard, metals, your cans, your aluminum cans. We’re also doing plastics one and two. We’re also gonna do mixed paper as well,” said Marshall.
The mission of the recycling program is to educate and provide cost-effective opportunities to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste in a sustainable manner in the City of Jackson.
