SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Dallas City Council has decided to increase yard debris and recycling services to weekly pickups.
The additional four monthly collections will add $4.30 per month to all residential customers. There will not be any change in fees for those customers having the 20-gallon bins. Only 17 customers utilized their 20-gallon bins, as a result of which the company has left the fee unchanged at $21.29 per month.

The Council approved the decision by a 5-2 vote with Councilors Kim Fitzgerald and Larry Briggs opposing the weekly pickup schedule.
The City had entered into an agreement with Republic Services in October last year. As per agreement, the company had proposed 5.4% increase in rate for trash recycling services. Also, it had proposed to increase yard debris and recycling services to a weekly pickup. Only the trash rate was approved that time. The proposal of weekly recycling services was referred to the Public Administration Committee (PAC).
Republic Services noted that they have been receiving hundreds of calls from customers enquiring them about the date when weekly yard debris and recycling services will be launched. Now with the City Council approving the proposal, the residents can expect immediate weekly recycling pickups, the company said.
