NEW LEXINGTON – Perry County Waste Reduction and Recycling has announced an Earth Day celebration event at Mount Alyosius, 5375 Tile Plant Rd, New Lexington, on April 25, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
The event will feature fun interactive learning stations; school awards and presentations. Guests are invited to bring a zero waste lunch picnic.
There will be a special feature presentation by children's author Tom Noll, and a grand finale concert with the Banana Slug String Band, all the way from California.
This special partnership community event is made possible by contributions from local organizations.
Three school contests in 2022 will be featured and recognized:
• High School – Defining REUSE Oral History Scholarship of $1,000, funded by local organizations!

• All Schools in Perry County – Green School Challenge, $700 grant. Funded by WM, Inc.!
