ERI Launched New Indiana Battery Recycling Plant

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): ERI announced launch of its first alkaline battery recycling plant. The plant is located with the company’s state-of-the-art, full-service e-waste recycling and ITAD facility in Plainfield, Indiana. Furthermore, the company stated that it plans to open more alkaline battery recycling plants throughout the US in 2025 and beyond, as part of its drive to expand its footprint.

The recycling center, which has capacity to recycle millions of pounds of alkaline batteries per year, is now operational. It will make use of ERI’s propriety clean technology to recycle batteries. The new plant will be capable of processing every type of alkaline battery, said John Shegerian, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO, ERI.

Shegerian said that it is proud and excited to take this latest significant step in the evolution of ERI and the services offered by it to its business and residential customers. The innovative alkaline battery recycling process produces zero waste products. The company is excited to offer a complementary service to its existing suite of e-waste, end of life and asset management services, he added.

ERI urged businesses and people to responsible recycle their alkaline batteries, thus supporting its efforts to keep toxins out of landfills.
