Exxon Filed Lawsuit Against California AG and Environmental Groups

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): According to court documents, Exxon Mobil has sued California Attorney General Rob Bonta and a number of environmental organizations in a federal court in Beaumont, Texas, alleging that they have disparaged the company's cutting-edge plastics recycling programs.

The lawsuit is seen as the firm's retribution against regulatory agencies and environmentalists who have been accusing the company of contributing to climate change and increasing greenhouse gas emissions.

The lawsuit alleges that Rob Bonta collaborated with Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, a law firm connected to IEJF, the Minderoo Foundation, an Australian non-profit organization run by Fortescue founder and billionaire Andrew Forrest. The lawsuit stated that Fortescue is a rival of Exxon in the energy transition and low-carbon solutions industries.

The business has requested a retraction of the disparaging remarks made about it as well as hidden damages.

A California Department of Justice official responded by saying that this is just another effort by Exxon to deflect criticism away from their own illegal deception. According to the spokeswoman, the AG will pursue his legal action against Exxon and fight this case forcefully in court.
