HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The city of Hastings gave residents an opportunity to recycle their old tires on Saturday and it was all thanks to a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy.

From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., people brought truckloads full of tires to the Hastings Landfill.

They got checked in and then operators threw them in a pile to be recycled later on.

The city plans on doing this recycling event until Mar. 20 or until the city reaches 350 tons of used tires.
