Hazardous waste, e-waste events on tap

BULLHEAD CITY — There are a lot of household items that can’t be tossed out with everyday trash — such as batteries, car fluids and pool chemicals.

Electronic waste — such as broken TVs and computers — should be recycled rather than thrown away.

Bullhead City residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of these types of trash at no cost on April 9.

A free hazardous waste collection event will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Motor Vehicle Division, 1325 Alonas Way.

More information about what types of hazardous waste will be accepted can be found at https://www.mohave.gov/ContentPage.aspx?id=124&cid=724.

A free electronic waste recycling event will be held just across the street at the same time at the City Hall parking lot, 1255 Marina Blvd.

Accepted items for the e-waste event include appliances, computers, cell phones, slot machines, audio equipment, cameras and scrap metal.

For more information about the e-waste event, call 928-763-0122.

The hazardous waste collection event is sponsored by the county and Bullhead City Fire Department and the e-waste event is sponsored by the city and Nevada State Recycling.
