SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and JASON Learning has announced the launch of 2023-24 Youth Recycling Contest. The annual contest is aimed at building awareness among students about the value of recycling and the significance of recycled materials industry. The theme for this year’s contest is “Design for Recycling”.
The student entries must be either a poster/infographic or a two-minute video that portrays their improved product. They should provide detailed explanation on the enhancements done using Design for Recycling principles. The showcased product must be recyclable, cost-effective and must be free of hazardous materials.

The Youth Recycling Contest is open to all students living in the United States and Canada enrolled in grades K-12 during the 2023-24 school year. They can participate as an individual or as a team comprising of up to four members. The deadline for submission of entries is Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:59 PM EST.
ISRI President Robin Wiener noted that today’s students are the leaders for tomorrow’s continued priority of a sustainable planet.
It must be noted that last year’s contest had received a total of 165 entries from talented young minds across the U.S.
