Liberty Tire Recycling Collected More Than 195 Million Tires Across the U.S. and Canada in 2022


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Liberty Tire Recycling- the leading North American tire recycling service provider announced release of its 2022 Sustainability Report, outlining the various initiatives undertaken during the year towards achieving its goal of zero waste by 2030.

The company collected more than 195 million tires across the U.S. and Canada, which in turn has made 4.3 billion pounds of rubber available for various end-uses. The use of its recycled products have avoided over 750,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide.

Liberty’s annual OSHA recordables declined by 58%, whereas the Lost Time injuries recorded decline by 85% when compared with 2010 levels. By recycling super sacks into a composite lumber product, it has removed over 371,000 pounds from waste stream. The route optimization in Texas resulted in reduction of fleet mileage by over 161,000 miles. It has converted more than 320,000 square feet to LED lighting during the year. This in turn has reduced lighting consumption by 67%.

Thomas Womble, CEO, Liberty Tire Recycling noted that the company is eager to collaborate with customers and industry partners expand existing markets and explore new opportunities in pursuit of its zero waste goal.
