The Shawnee Public Library recently hosted a Styrofoam Recycling event. Collections from the effort yielded and densified just more than 65 pounds of foam.
“At the end of the day we had produced 6.5 logs of densified polystyrene, each four feet long,” Information Services Manager Lisa Lempges said. “In addition, we had several people just come to see the process.”
She said the next styrofoam recycling event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, June 25 at the library.
