SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Nebraska Recycling Council (NRC), situated in Lincoln, Nebraska, announced the hiring of an operations and communications director (OC), who will be in charge of overseeing the Council's daily and ongoing operations. Allison Majerus, the current OC, has accepted a position with HDR, an engineering and consulting business based in Omaha, Nebraska.Majerus has worked with the NRC since 2020.

According to the NRC news release, the newly appointed staff member will report directly to the Council's Executive Director and will be responsible for membership program recruiting and management, as well as event organizing. The OC will be in charge of coordinating internal functions such as administrative tasks and office administration, as well as developing operational policies and procedures.
Majerus stated that leaving the NRC is not easy. At the same time, she expressed her excitement for the new opportunity to learn, overcome obstacles, and contribute to the solid waste management business.
A degree in business, public administration, or communications with prior management experience is necessary, as is a four-year degree with a track record of successfully leading a performance- and outcomes-based organization with a similar objective. Supervisory experience is essential.
The position remains vacant until filled. The review of applications will commence on December 16, 2024.
