OSS to host recycling webinar series

The Ottawa Sandusky Seneca Joint Solid Waste District is creating a new webinar series called Recyclers Unite (RU), a release from the waste district states.

Recyclers Unite is meant to educate viewers on the best practices of recycling, according to the release. Each month, Director Rocco and a possible guest speaker will be brought in to discuss the complexities of reduce, reuse and recycle and sustainable material management.

The webinars will be given live through Zoom, on or after the 15th of every month at noon and at 7 p.m. Sessions will be no longer than an hour with a question and answer session, the release states.

Recyclers Unite webinars are free and open to all viewers - no formal education in recycling is needed.

Registration is mandatory to receive a meeting link. Register on RecycleOSS.org and click on Adult Programs under the Education bar.
When waste (contamination) finds its way into recycling bins and has to be sorted out, the system is not sustainable, the release states. Contamination is costly and potentially dangerous for workers processing the recycled material. Proper education will hopefully create a more sustainable recycling life cycle, it states.
