The city of Plano is offering residents recycling programs for holiday trees, greenery and lights.
Live trees, garland and wreaths can be recycled into Texas Pure Products mulch and compost.
Holiday lights can be recycled through the electronics recycling program.
Any ornaments, lights, decorations, tinsel and tree stands must be removed before taking items to drop-off points or placing them at your collection point. No plastics or metals are accepted. Flocked trees cannot be recycled.
Drop-off sites will be open Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.

- Jack Carter Park, 2601 Pleasant Valley Drive (south parking lot off Pleasant Valley)
- Old Shepard Place Park, 1301 Winding Hollow Lane (northeast corner of the Shepton High School parking lot off Plano Parkway)
- Russell Creek Park, 3500 McDermott Road (northeast parking lot off McDermott)
- Schell Park, 2305 Laurel Lane (southeast parking lot directly off Laurel)
Pickup for weekly yard trimmings begin Jan. 3. If the drop-off deadline is missed, residents can place their tree with weekly yard trimmings.
The city observes Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 as holidays. All collections are one day later, and Thursday collections will occur on Friday.
