The city of Toledo has announced two drop-off refuse and recycling events.
The first event is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Elementary at 500 Chicago St. The second event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 7 at Robinson Elementary at 1075 Horace St.
"City of Toledo crews will be accepting residential yard waste for collection at our Clean Toledo Drop-Off Refuse and Recycling Event," the city said in its announcement.
Some details:
- Acceptable items are electronic waste (including TVs and CRT monitors); 10 tires (on or off the rim, no commercial tires)
- Document recycling materials: cardboard, phone books, and newspapers houseware goods, clothing, toys
- Bulky items and refuse (no air conditioning units refrigerators/ freezers, or large appliances)
- Yard waste (overgrowth, brush, sticks and branches, leaves, vines, grass clippings)
Commercial businesses will be turned away, the announcement said.
