Recycling is back in Claremont, residents should separate trash again

RecyclingMonster - The city resumed standard recycling collection on Monday, May 4. Sanitation drivers are collecting trash, recycling and green waste as three separate loads.

As a friendly reminder, you can recycle the following items:

• Plastic jugs, bottles, and jars (plastics #1 and #2 only)

• Glass bottles and jars

• Paper, paper boxes, and cardboard

• Cans (soup cans, beverage cans, etc.)

All materials must be clean and dry, with no food residue. For those who have been storing recyclables, during the month of May, drivers will wait for residents to refill their recycling container if they are curbside when the driver arrives for recycling service. The city asks that residents not leave extra recyclables next to their container.

“Due to COVID-19, drivers cannot directly handle items that aren’t placed within the container,”?the city shared. “We thank all of our customers and we look forward to continuing to serve you during this time!”
