OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) - Okaloosa County is recycling again, according to the director of Public Works during a morning meeting with county commissioners on Tuesday.
The program started back up on November 1st when the county sent three truckloads to ECUA recycling centers.
Initially, the county considered collecting the recycling and sending it to a landfill until the market improved.
After public concerns at a recent workshop, the board changed its decision to start up the recycling program anyway.
Another thing that came out of the workshop and was approved was the development of a committee to look at improving operation and public education.
The county is currently accepting applications for this advisory committee.
