SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Leading waste management and recycling service providers Renewi and Freepoint Eco-Systems announced plans to enter into a long-term strategic collaboration to produce feedstock for advanced plastic recycling. The partnership aims to divert end-of-life plastics from incineration.
The collaboration of the two companies will address the growing demand for sustainable products, through proposed development of necessary sorting line and treatment facilities. The new sorting line will employ various innovative sorting techniques and transform different varieties of end-of-life plastics into high-quality feedstock.

The partnership aims to supply around 80,000 tonnes of feedstock to Freepoint’s advanced recycling facility to be located at the company’s Kluizendok site in Ghent, Belgium. Both the companies will join hands to establish the necessary pre-processing infrastructure in the coming months, the press release said.
The collaboration marks a significant step in the waste management chain, which will help to bridge the gap between waste and products. Furthermore, it will contribute significantly to Europe’s circular economy.
By diverting end-of-life plastics, the recycling project is expected to deliver significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
