Terex offers electric shredder for C&D, RDF markets

Terex Recycling Systems, a United Kingdom-based business unit of United States-based Terex Corp., is now offering the TDS-V20SE static electric shredder, which it says is designed to handle a range of materials including C&D materials, other commercial discarded materials, scrap wood and yard or land clearing waste.

“This medium-speed shredder excels in producing high-spec refuse-derived fuel (RDF), solid recovered fuel (SRF) and biomass products,” states Terex.

Terex says its TDS-V20SE can find applications in recycling facilities and in waste management operations, including material recovery facilities (MRFs) and at locations interested in the production RDF, SRF or biomass products. “Whether as a standalone product or incorporated into new and existing recycling plants, the TDS-V20SE delivers exceptional performance and reliability,” states the vendor.

The electric-powered shredder can be used as a primary or secondary shredder and has what Terex calls intuitive controls and pre-installed programs “to make it extremely user friendly.”

Features include a double-shaft shredding chamber developed by Germany-based Vecoplan AG, an electric-powered independent hydrostatic drive and a product sizing screen, all designed to enhance performance and operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact, states Terex.

The screening system, available in various sizes, allows operators to select their desired particle size while also effectively handling foreign objects, says the company. “This capability to produce a controlled product size in a single pass not only saves time, but also aids efficiency,” says Terex.

Other options and extras include hopper extensions, designed for the efficient handling of larger volumes and capacity, and an auto grease system.

A chamber camera and monitor option can provide “real-time insights into its shredding processes,” according to the equipment maker.

“Terex Recycling Systems continues to grow from strength to strength,” says Kenny Hull, product and commercial manager of Terex Recycling Systems. “With the addition of the TDS-V20SE to our product range, we now offer the already proven shredding technology from our existing mobile portfolio with the added benefit of electric power.”

Terex says its TDS-V20SE static electric shredder is now available for purchase to its customers in markets around the world.
