West Hartford Recycling Center Announced Change in Schedule

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Town of West Hartford recycling centre is set to change its operating schedule by the end of the current month. The town officials urged residents to prepare themselves to get adjusted to the changed recycling schedule at the facility.

According to John Phillips, director of West Hartford Public Works, there will be changes to recycling center’s policies and hours of operation, with effect from 27th March, 2023. The recycling center will be closed for use to all users on that day. It will reopen after nine days, on Wednesday, 5th April, 2023, he said.

Thereafter, the recycling centre will stop accepting commercial yard waste and clean wood. As per the announcement, the rejection will be applicable to materials brought in by permitted residents with side business that generate frequent volumes of the above materials. Only acceptable recycling materials and yard waste generated from residence will be accepted, it clarified.

The Town noted that its landfill is scheduled to undergo a redevelopment project, which makes it necessary to close the landfill temporarily.

In addition, the hours of operation at the recycling centre will also change. Hereafter, it will be open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM. Also, starting April 8 through Dec. 16, the facility will be open on Saturdays from 7 AM to 12 noon.
