SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Zoo Atlanta will host a two-week recycling campaign and a single-day recycling event exclusively for larger electronics items. This will be open to Members as well as guests and is aimed at promoting sustainability and ensuring safe recycling of unwanted electronics.

The two week campaign will run from 19, August to 30, August, 2024. The visitors could bring a wide range of small electronic items including cell phones, tablets, smart watches, and digital cameras. As an incentive, the Zoo will offer $5 off admission for that day’s Zoo visit. Meantime, Zoo Atlanta Members, will be provided a free ticket for the Norfolk Southern Zoo Train or Endangered Species Carousel.  

The single-day recycling event will be held on August 23, 2024 9AM-1 PM in the circular drive outside Savanna Hall. The event, held in partnership with Prime Asset Recovery, will accept items such as monitors, desktop PCs and printers. Members and visitors are eligible for the same incentives earned in recycling smaller electronics.

The campaign and the single-day event are hosted by the Zoo Atlanta Green Team. The proceeds from the donated items will benefit the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Gorilla SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) Program.
