U-PULL-&-PAY

OUR STORY

At U-Pull-&-Pay, our team of innovators is reimagining the future of auto recycling.

Since its inception in 2006 through the Summer of 2022, U-Pull-&-Pay has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), and part of the Nucor family of steel and steel products companies. With more than 28,000 teammates, Nucor Corporation is North America’s largest recycler and steel producer. Since 1885, DJJ has been an industry leader in safe and sustainable scrap processing and recycling.

In the Summer of 2022, U-Pull-&-Pay was acquired by Pull-A-Part. Through this acquisition, Pull-A-Part has expanded its network of self-service used auto parts stores to 36 locations in 16 states. U-Pull-&-Pay represents 11 locations in 7 states within the company.

U-Pull-&-Pay is proud to be a part of the automotive recycling process. We are a self-serve retail used auto parts recycler that purchases end-of-life vehicles and offers our customers high-quality automobile parts at a fraction of the retail price.

What remains of the vehicles are then securely and cleanly shipped to a separate location where they will be recycled into the steel that keeps America moving.

As an industry leader in self-serve used auto parts, the U-Pull-&-Pay team is dedicated to serving our customers and communities while operating the safest, cleanest, and most environmentally friendly facilities in our industry. On average, our stores employ 25-30 teammates. We pride ourselves on being a good neighbor in the communities where we operate. From creating competitive, high-quality jobs for local individuals, to finding new ways to give back, we believe that good business should be good for everyone. In fact, we’ve been recognized and rewarded by many civic organizations for our efforts to keep our communities strong. We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and support others.

For us, a big part of being a good neighbor is keeping our employees and our customers safe. Our award-winning safety program includes clearly posted guidelines at every U-Pull-&-Pay store, as well as ongoing training, inspection, and modern safety equipment. Auto repairs can be expensive, but our stores make it possible for our customers to keep their cars on the road and save significantly on used auto parts. That’s good for business, and good for the community.

As we continue to grow, U-Pull-&-Pay will remain focused on the core values that made us strong: safety, integrity, and responsibility in everything we do. That’s how we’re keeping our drive alive.

BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

In addition to selling used car parts and buying junk cars for cash to give them new purpose, we’ve made it our goal to minimize the environmental and community impacts of our operations. As part of our commitment to the environment, we’ve engineered our process to ensure all non-harvested auto parts are recovered, and when possible, recycled. At select locations across the country, we take the used oil out of our vehicles and use it to heat our facilities. Additionally, we extract and recycle fluids from every vehicle we process and employ a state-of-the-art articulating fluid recovery system with engineered spill containment.
