Help Georgetown County keep pollutants out of our waterways by joining us for our semi-annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Paper Shredding Event! This event will also feature a medication take-back.

Accepted household items will include:
- Paint
- Batteries (alkaline and rechargeable)
- Incandescent light bulbs
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Household cleaners
- Noncommercial pesticides
- Fertilizers
- Products labeled "warning," "poisonous" or "toxic."
- Prescription and nonprescription medications

Please do not bring:
- Gas
- Oil
- Antifreeze
- Ammunition

For shredding, there is no need to remove staples, paper clips or rubber bands from paper. However, 3-ring binders and binder clips are not accepted.
