What You'll Do:
- Safe and Efficient Operation: Safely operate commercial vehicles, including but not limited to, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, flat-beds, and lugger trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and secure scrap metal materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials.
- Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
- Environmental Responsibility: Handle materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of [5] years of commercial driving experience.
- Experience pulling doubles a must!
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Ability to strap own load.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Schedule:
- Five days a week, day shift, Monday through Friday. Weekends off for a work-life balance.
