GRF Grants Helped to Divert Tons of Glass from Landfills


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Glass Recycling Foundation (GRF) published its Impact Report for 2023. The grants amounting to approximately $150,000 helped in diverting several tonnes of glass from landfills.

According to the report, the grants supported as many as 11 projects, which collectively diverted a total of nearly 1,660 tons of glass from landfills. The grants were awarded with the help of donations from Anheuser Busch Foundation, DiageoLegacy Marketing (Corona), and Wine and Spirit Wholesalers.

The City of Fairfax received a $6,000 grant from the GRF during the previous year. Brentwood, Tennessee-based501c3 nonprofit, Justice Industries received a $6,000 grant. Also, Bottle Underground received a grant of $18,000 from the GRF.

In addition, the Foundation recently entered into agreements with Keep Waco Beautiful (TX), City of Omaha (NE), SDS Foundation (KS), City of Temple (TX), Baldwin County (AL), Logan County (OH), and the Pennsylvania Resources Council to collaborate on various projects.

The application window of the next round of GRF grants will be opened on May 29, 2024. Non-profit entities, municipalities, state and county governments, and public waste management districts are eligible to apply for the grant. The last date for submission of application is 10th July, 2024.
