SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The last scrap metal recycling events of the 2024 season will take place in Union County in November. The events will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7th, and Saturday, November 16th. All Union County citizens were encouraged to participate in the event to dispose of their unwanted belongings by the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
The disposal events will take place at two convenient locations: Rahway River Park (follow Park Drive, Rahway off St. Georges Avenue to service yard across from swimming pool), Rahway, and the Emergency Services Building, 151 Kenilworth Boulevard, Kenilworth, Cranford. Scrap metal may be brought to either location by residents of any Union County municipality.

The accepted items include unwanted pots and pans, air conditioners, aluminum scrap, aluminum siding, bicycles, brass, copper, dishwashers, electric fans, fencing, freezers, refrigerators, stoves, tire rims, toasters, gutters, irons, lawn furniture, metal cabinets, metal sheds, microwaves, railings, washers and dryers, window frames, wire hangers and drained lawnmowers.
Residents are asked to stay inside the car. The items that need to be disposed of must be stored so that employees may get to them with ease.
