City of Norfolk Extended Partnership with TFC Recycling

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Norfolk extended its curbside recycling partnership with TFC Recycling. The company has been providing service to more than 61,000 households within the city over the past two decades. Norfolk has been a leader in sustainability and waste reduction. Virginia Beach also made the decision to keep up its recycling collaboration with TFC earlier this year.

The company is pleased to assist Norfolk and Virginia Beach in their endeavors to improve sustainable trash management, according to Michael Benedetto, President and CEO of TFC Recycling. According to Benedetto, these municipalities' dedication to environmental responsibility is demonstrated by their investment in curbside recycling systems.

Residents' recyclables will be processed at the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). At the MRF, the company just installed state-of-the-art screens and optical sorters driven by AI. All of Hampton Roads and the surrounding Richmond area can now be served by the facility.

Curbside service is regarded by residents of Virginia Beach and Norfolk as the most effective method of keeping waste out of landfills, according to recent studies.
