SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is apparently being used by American Waste Control's Mr. Murph 2.0 Recycling Facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma to manage the increased amounts of recyclables after the holiday. When compared to the typical monthly volume of 8.7 million pounds of recyclables, the amount of waste generated during the holiday season has increased by 10–12%.
According to sources, the AI computer can pick about 26,000 objects in an 8-hour shift. This is about twice as much as what employees would create in a comparable shift. The plant is now the most technologically advanced recycling facility in the entire Oklahoma region thanks to the AI machine.

The AI-powered facility recycles a variety of materials, such as flattened cardboard, mixed paper, newspapers, magazines, bottle containers, aluminum and steel cans, food and beverage cartons, and plastic-style wrapping paper, according to Robert Pickens, Vice President of Recycling at American Waste Control.
However, Mr. Murph does not accept wires, chains, or electronics, Christmas trees, glitter wrapping paper, Styrofoam, glass, clothing or linen, plastic bags, rubbish or bag recycling, or food or beverages.
